Marlene in Japan

Hej!💛 Jag har varit väldigt upptagen på sistone och den här terminen kommer att bli totemo taihen (väldigt jobbig). Jag kommer att studera 200% (Japanska och uppsats i Juridken), men förhoppningvis kommer det vara värt det. Jag har nämligen ansökt om ett stipendium som jag nu även blivit nominerad för. Stipendiet innebär att jag får studera japanska i ett år i Japan och jag får även utbelt en summa varje månad som i pri cip täcker nästan alla kostnader. Hur bra?! Första steget var att skicka en en ansökan, efter det blev man kallad till att skriva ett prov i japanska, vilket var hur svårt som helst. Men på nått sätt klarade jag det och blev även kallad till nästa steg vilket var en intervju. Jag vart så sjukt osäker efter intervjuen om jag skulle bli kallad eller inte då det inte gick att utläsa nått från de två som intervjuvade. De frågade inte heller alls de forgor jag trodde de skulle göra så min föreberedelse inför detta var till ingen nytta haha... Men dagen efter fick jag ett ...

Ohayou, This post will be about Arima onsen. The last weekend before school started my parents and I went to Arima Onsen which is located outside of Kobe. Arima Onsen is one of Japan's most famous onsen. For you who don´t know what onsen is, it´s basically, a hot bath with water from the mountains (het källa). So kind of like a spa but with natural water. It is something that should be on your bucket list if you plan to visit Japan!  It took us around 1 hour with a bus ( if I remember it right) to get there from Osaka. We had booked a room at a Ryokan, kind of a traditional Japanese hotel/inn. I can really recommend staying at a Ryokan if you are visiting an Onsen, it´s an experience! You get served 24/7 room service included in the price. However, we didn´t have the drinks included, except the tea and water. You get served the dinner at the room, they make the beds for you, we even got to select which pillow we wanted out of, 8 different options haha, the first time that ...

Konnichiwa! Long-time no see. I´ve been home for over one month now, time really flies. I was supposed to write this post earlier but I just needed time to land and take it easy before my new semester started. This will not be a final post because I have so much more that I want to document, mostly for my own part.  I´m so so glad to be home, I´ve missed my family, friends, bf, etc. But now when I started to get into routines again, I kind of miss the japan-life haha. I think this is mostly because it didn't feel like I had any closure. The last few weeks in Japan only felt stressful because we had our finals. And two days after the finals I went home. So I didn't really have any time to travel around after it. Of course, I could have stayed and traveled around like a lot of my friends did, but Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I really wanted to be home celebrating with my family.  But I´ve started to check som possibilities how I can go back and study, ...

Hey, happy Lucia everyone😄 Today the 13th of December is the so-called Lucia-day. I got to celebrate Lucia last Saturday in Kobe. I was invited by our good friend Seiko who is a member in an organization called JSSK (Japan -Sweden Society Kansai). I also invited my friend Jaehee from Korea to participate and experience some Swedish food and tradition. I was going to participate in the "Lucia tåg" and sing, something I hadn't done since I was 10 years old.  The event was held at Kobe Club, and it was much fancier than I had expected hehe. We started with some rehearsing before the event started and it was time for our performance. It went very well, but I must say, my voice was lower than both the guys and the girls haha. Hey, So my adventure here in Japan is coming to end ( at least for this time). It´s barely two weeks left here before going back home. It has been really stressful the last couple of weeks, a lot of tests and the finals are coming up next week (which means 6 tests, yaaay..). Life is not easy now haha, just want to go home and celebrate Christmas. However, later today I will meet up with one Japanese girl and her friend and we will go to Ikea and eat (hopefully some Swedish traditional Christmas food). She will be studying next year at my home university in Sweden so hopefully, we can keep in contact😊 I have not much planned this weekend besides studding.
