Lucia celebration in Kobe
Hey, happy Lucia everyone😄
Today the 13th of December is the so-called Lucia-day. I got to celebrate Lucia last Saturday in Kobe. I was invited by our good friend Seiko who is a member in an organization called JSSK (Japan -Sweden Society Kansai). I also invited my friend Jaehee from Korea to participate and experience some Swedish food and tradition. I was going to participate in the "Lucia tåg" and sing, something I hadn't done since I was 10 years old.
The event was held at Kobe Club, and it was much fancier than I had expected hehe. We started with some rehearsing before the event started and it was time for our performance. It went very well, but I must say, my voice was lower than both the guys and the girls haha. After the music, it was time for some food and it was nothing less than "Julbord"!! I was so happy, I didn't think that I would get a chance to eat that this year, but ack so wrong I was. The food was really good, and Jaehee has ever since asked if we can eat Swedish food again xD We got to eat, "Sill", meatballs, salmon, roast biff, "Jansons frestelse", among other things. We also got Mulled wine, gingerbread cookies, Saffron bun. Oishikatta! See pictures and videos down in this post!
After the event, we went around Kobe and waited for the evening to come so we could go to Kobe illumination that is held every year in December. It was beautiful, but a lot of people. They had closed off a lot of street and kind of built a passage for people to walk, and you had to start from the beginning of the passage. The sky was also amazing when the sun went down, the whole sky went red. After the illumination show, we went to meet up with our friend Yui and eat at a place called red rock. They serve meat, and I cal really recommend this restaurant. It is cheap and really good food. They have this type of restaurant in Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto, etc. Probably also in more places.
Today I have only been studying and I had a reading test in Japanese that went very well. And we had a Christmas movie night where we saw Home Alone 2 😊🎅🎇
Now I will head for bed, I will try to get up early tomorrow. We will see how it goes with that. I have had trouble falling asleep during the last couple of weeks.
