Long time no see, Japan update
Konnichiwa!
Long-time no see. I´ve been home for over one month now, time really flies. I was supposed to write this post earlier but I just needed time to land and take it easy before my new semester started. This will not be a final post because I have so much more that I want to document, mostly for my own part.
I´m so so glad to be home, I´ve missed my family, friends, bf, etc. But now when I started to get into routines again, I kind of miss the japan-life haha. I think this is mostly because it didn't feel like I had any closure. The last few weeks in Japan only felt stressful because we had our finals. And two days after the finals I went home. So I didn't really have any time to travel around after it. Of course, I could have stayed and traveled around like a lot of my friends did, but Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I really wanted to be home celebrating with my family. But I´ve started to check som possibilities how I can go back and study, so we will see how it goes ;)
My exchange semester was a lot of fun, met two of my best friends there, that I, hopefully, will see soon. I had really great teachers, I especially liked my kanji teachers. One cool thing was also that my Japanese teacher was one of the people who had written the course literature that is used even here in Sweden. I got really good grades with two A+, one A- and one B. I got to try calligraphy, participate in different events and volunteer work where we got to meet high school students and middle school students. I also made a lot of one-day trips, mostly by myself because I had Wednesdays free. The longest I went was to Shirama which took around 6 h, and I had to get up at 5.30 in order to get to the bus in Osaka xD. It was a really fun day. I went two times to Universal Studios where I spent over 14 hours both times running around like crazy haha. And much more. But I will write more about my trips and events in other separate posts, which I´m planning to post 1-2 each week.
My new semester started last Monday. This semester my university gets the honor to have three Japanese students who are from the university I studied at, in Japan. We met up last Friday to visit a big market so-called "Hindersmässan" which is held every year in January in my hometown. It was fun to speak Japanese again, and I must say I noticed that my Japanese has really improved since my 4 months in Japan. They kept saying "jouzu= じょうず" which basically means skillful or good at, haha. We ate candy and tried some Swedish food. It was kind of funny, in Japan they have a lot of weird food, but for them, boar and deer were weird to eat and they didn´t dare to try it xD. Also the big ketchup and mustard hangers where you hold your sausage under and press, they had never seen it before and they whee so amazed and started to take picture of it haha, so funny. I´m wondering how they see us "västerlänningar" when we are coming to Japan and taking pictures of everything.
That was all for me this time.
Jaa, mata ne ~
